Paul Noland (pictured) is off to take up a new executive position in the attractions industry following his resignation as the president and CEO of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).

The association announced his sudden departure on February 15. It has since been revealed that Noland will become the new CEO of accesso, where he will succeed Steve Brown as from April 9. IAAPA chief financial officer Hal McEvoy will lead as interim president as its board conducts a worldwide search for Noland’s replacement.

The former Disney and Marriott executive was named IAAPA president and CEO in January 2013 and acted as a theme park consultant immediately prior to joining the association. An announcement regarding his new role in the industry will be made soon.

“Paul has led IAAPA through some of the most successful years in the association’s 100-year history,” says IAAPA chairman and Liseberg president, Andreas Andersen. “In addition, he has managed an extensive expansion of
member services, the continued globalization of the association, and the complicated relocation of IAAPA’s headquarters from the Washington DC area to Orlando. For this, we owe him a very warm thank you.”

Hal McEvoy (pictured) joined IAAPA just last April following a successful 42-year career with Sea World/Busch Entertainment.
