The park has reported debts in excess of £7m, so any bid is likely to be a nominal amount with the debt factored in.

Recent audited accounts reveal that in the financial year to the end of December 2006, Oakwood Leisure generated revenues of

£5.7m, up from £4.8m previously. It posted pre-tax losses of £58,221, compared to £582,616 a year earlier.

UK operator Leisure Parcs is rumoured to be behind the bid.
