Construction of the world’s largest aluminium-domed indoor waterpark is now underway in Donetsk, Ukraine, paving the way for an exciting new entertainment venue.

The 61,000sq.ft Aquatoria waterpark is being built by Canadian company, OpenAire.

Scheduled to open in early 2012, the waterpark is already being hailed as a game-changer for the Donetsk region, which is one of four cities co-hosting the UEFA Euro 2012 football championship.

"This structure truly is the first of its kind anywhere in the world," said Mark Albertine, president of OpenAire.

"Our design and engineering team really understood the kind of majestic, awe-inspiring presence the city of Donetsk was looking for, and achieved this ambitious vision with a completely unique, breathtaking design that promises to become an area landmark."
