On December 9 and 10, more than 300 professionals and specialists in the attractions industry gathered online an took part in the 5th Russian Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (RAAPA) conference.

The virtual event was focused on the ‘Amusement industry in Coronacrisis conditions: challenges and new opportunities.’ It was the fifth online conference RAAPA has held since April 2020 and was hailed as a great success.

The specialists that participated in the conference were from more than 100 cities and 11 countries around the world, including Russia, the USA, Germany, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Italy, the Netherlands, Armenia, Finland.

The first day of the conference was devoted to the challenges for theme parks and the second day was centred on the family entertainment industry.

Over both days, experts discussed the present conditions the attractions industry is operating in, exploring the key changes and trends.

Ten speakers made presentations, including Margarita Navolokina, head of the Sochi-Park sales department, Sochi, Olga Prosyanaya, key account manager at Linnanmaki Park, Helsinki, Finland and Sergey Kalmykov, an expert in the leisure and amusement industry in Moscow.

The experts considered pressing issues facing parks and centres, such as the best ways of organizing resorts after quarantine, and how to create comfortable atmospheres for guests.

RAAPA is inviting specialists in the leisure and entertainment industries to attend forthcoming events, including the 23rd International Exhibition “Amusement rides and entertainment equipment RAAPA EXPO-2021. The International Exhibition is being held from March 30 to April 1, 2021 in Moscow in pavilion 57 at VDNH.
