October 31 saw the opening of the first phase of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the Middle East’s largest multi-themed leisure and entertainment destination, with Legoland Dubai and Riverland Dubai now open to the general public.

Legoland Dubai is the first Lego-themed amusement park in the Middle East. Designed for families with children aged between two and 12, it features more than 40 interactive rides, shows, attractions, building experiences and thousands of Lego model structures.

Riverland Dubai is a free-to-enter, multi-themed dining and retail destination with a wide range of restaurants and shops, along with street theatre and entertainment.

The opening of the two facilities marks the first in a series of ribbon-cutting ceremonies planned at Dubai Parks and Resorts over the next few weeks.

In addition to Legoland and Riverland, the $3.6bn destination will also feature Motiongate Dubai – a unique theme park showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate – as well as Bollywood Parks Dubai, a first-of-its-kind theme park that will showcase rides and attraction based on some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters.

Legoland Water Park is also due to open at the resort next month, along with the Polynesian-themed Lapita Hotel. The destination’s fourth theme park, Six Flags Dubai, is expected to open in late 2019.
