Pinewood Group, the multinational film and television studio company that’s headquartered in Buckinghamshire, has been given permission to initiate planning an expansion of Pinewood Studios in Britain.

The expansion will include a film-themed attraction for visitors. The development has reportedly been approved by Buckinghamshire council. Subsequently, Pinewood can commence with its plans to develop the Screen Hub UK.

The new destination will be located next door to Pinewood Studios and will cost around £500m to construct.

The proposed site will feature a skills and training centre operated by the National Film and Television School, new sound stages, a business development hub, and the film-inspired attraction.

The new facility will increase film production capacity in the UK. It is expected to inject an additional £335m into the local economy and create more than 3,500 new jobs.
