Visitors to Parc Le Pal in France can enjoy a taste of the Canadian wilderness on a new Family Launch Coaster from Intamin.

Opened at the beginning of April, Yukon Quad features themed ATV (All Terrain Vehicles) that are launched into the landscape of “northern Canada.” The 1km-long ride is the biggest attraction in the park’s history.

After a pre-show, the quads are launched to reach 65 km/h followed by a narrow curve that takes riders up to the highest point at 12m. At this time, passengers feel accelerations of up to 3Gs. Going down the hill, the track continues to change direction low to the ground, which greatly increases the feeling of speed.

After these thrilling figures, riders are launched a second time, this time to a speed of almost 90 km/h. The tight curve after the second launch makes the riders hold on tight to the handlebars as they fly past trees and rocks. Before the last hill and an S-hump, a very narrow curve brings the 18-seater train to a very smooth brake.

Intamin’s Family Launch Coaster, as its name suggests, caters to a broad range of fun-seekers but at the same time is still quite thrilling. It uses a state-of-the-art friction wheel drive system in combination with a unique vehicle design. The upright seating position, with two passengers per bike, individual lap-bars and foamed seats, guarantee a safe and comfortable ride experience for all.
