Triotech, a world leading developer of multisensory interactive 3D rides and attractions, has set up its 200th XD Dark Ride interactive theatre.

The latest XD dark ride can be found in Méga Parc des Galeries de la Capitale, an indoor amusement park in Quebec City.

Named ‘The Cortex’, the XD Dark Ride is already proving to be one of the most popular attractions at Quebec City’s Méga Parc, which is home to 18 rides and attractions and is the biggest indoor amusement park in eastern Canada.

Up to eight players can play and compete with one another on the XD Dark Ride. The multi-sensory, interactive attraction is designed for the whole family.

The XD Dark Ride was originally launched in 2011 in Berlin. Integrating the fastest targeting system, real-time stereoscopic 3D images with special effects and a curved screen, the XD Dark Ride interactive theatre won the best-new-product award in the 2013 IAAPA Brass Ring Awards.

Triotech’s founding president Ernest Yale spoke of the company’s elation of installing its 200th XD Dark Ride.

“The XD Dark Ride interactive theatre is designed for the whole family and has contributed to our international reach for nearly 15 years. It is truly an iconic attraction for Triotech, offering an intense multisensory adventure combined with cutting-edge technology and special effects that provide the user with the best experience there is.

“We are proud to have set up our 200th XD Dark Ride interactive theatre in Quebec City, as it enjoys a resounding success around the world,” said Yale.

In 2017, Quebec City’s Méga Parc underwent a $52 million renovation. The Méga Parc is more than 30 years old and is the second largest indoor amusement park in Canada after the West Edmonton Mall.

The multi-million-dollar makeover involved modernising the park whilst maintaining an industrial revolution theme and a “retro-futuristic” style.

The installation of the XD Dark Ride interactive theatre is part of the amusement park’s ongoing expansion.
