The French capital’s renovated Jardin d’Acclimatation welcomed 500,000 visitors this summer – a new record.

The long-established pleasure gardens reopened in May following a nine-month, €60 million programme of improvements. The park now includes 40 rides and attractions, including 17 new ones.

Normally the venue welcomes around 130,000 visitors per month in summer. Yet 240,000 people went in July, with a further 260,000 in August. As many as 200,000 of them tried out the new Speed Rockets rollercoaster by Gerstlauer (pictured).

Located close to Paris’ ring road in Bois de Boulogne, Le Jardin d’Acclimatation is operated on a lease by the LVMH Foundation. This year it entered into a new deal with Compagnie des Alpes, which brings with it operations expertise from venues such as Parc Astérix and Futuroscope.
