Safari Park in the West Midlands has been awarded with a nationally recognised award for its service to school travel.

The park won the ‘Best Wildlife Attraction’ at the School Travel Awards, beating off competition from many highly respected UK attraction sites.

Safari Park was given the prestigious accolade due to its proven commitment to providing unforgettable school trips which provide children with an educational and memorable wildlife experience.

Safari Park’s education department believes school trips can provide the opportunity to inspire young people to develop new skills, learn and experience an ‘out of the classroom’ environment.

Nicola Anslow, education manager at Safari Park, commented on receiving the award: “We are honoured to have received the title of ‘Best Wildlife Attraction’, and to be recognised for the wonderful school trips we provide here at West Midland Safari Park.

“We have been welcoming school pupils for more than forty years to see and learn about our animals. From the towering giraffes that peer in through coach windows, to the cheeky lemurs that leap high up in our trees at our walk-through exhibits, there is so much to be explored!

“This award really highlights the impact that school excursions have in developing confidence and resilience in young people, and after such turbulent year, they have never been more important than they are right now,” Anslow continued.
