The Dark Attraction and Funhouse Enthusiasts (DAFE) executive board has voted to officially recognise industry veteran Drew Hunter’s contributions to both the organisation and dark attractions with its third-ever lifetime membership.

Hunter is well known in many arenas. His extensive resume includes art installations, performance credits, attraction management, and dark attraction concept and design.

He currently serves as vice president of design for Florida-based Sally Corporation. Prior to Sally, Drew performed as characters ranging from Dr. Blood – the host character for the Louisiana State Fair’s resident haunted attraction – to television favourite, Bozo the Clown.

Hunter was instrumental in the founding and management of the International Association of Haunted Attractions (IAHA), predecessor to the current Haunted Attraction Association (HHA) and the first trade organisation devoted specifically to dark entertainment.

His tenure with DAFE consists of over a decade of behind-the-scenes consultation in regard to promotion, publication of the quarterly magazines and graphic design. Most recently, Hunter designed the logo for the organisation to reflect its renaming and rebranding.
