A 150m section of the 976m track, part of the only ride of its kind in the country, has seen a 100-strong team painstakingly restore it to its original glory.

Meanwhile, the other existing Scenic Railway ride, at Dreamland in Margate, UK, could become part of the world’s first heritage amusement park.

First opened in 1920, the iconic ride was partially destroyed by an arson attack in April this year, though it is hoped it can be fully restored to form the centrepiece of an entire park devoted to historic rides and buildings.
