SeaWorld initiates conservation drive
SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment has pledged more than US$1m to wildlife conservation programmes in Central and South America through a four-month-long ticket promotion.
The company, which operates the SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove attractions brands, said the new SeaWorld Cares campaign would raise cash for several initiatives, including the Nature Conservancy’s work to establish a marine conservation area along the 600-mile Mesoamerican Reef off the coast of Belize and Mexico.
The promotion started in September and runs until the end of the year. During that time, an adult who purchases a full-price, single-day ticket online can get a $5 children’s ticket in which all proceeds are donated.
Other organisations set to receive funding are the National Wildlife Federation and the World Wildlife Fund.
