Texas State Aquarium is bringing back its Sensory Sensitive Sunday event in 2022.

The first event of the year took place on January 16, with successive sessions held on every third Sunday during the winter and spring.

Sensory Sensitive Sundays involve the aquarium providing a quieter and modified environment for families with sensory sensitive children.

During the sessions modified animal presentations take place, designated quiet zones are opened, music is lowered, and signs are placed throughout the aquarium to inform families of what they can expect in each space.

The next Sensory Sensitive Sunday is taking place on February 20 and then on every third Sunday until May 15. The session runs from 9am to 11am.
