SeaWorld Park & Entertainment and Sesame Workshop have announced a launch date for Sesame Place San Diego, the second Sesame Place in the US.

The 17-acre attraction site will open on March 26, 2022.

The destination will be the only Sesame Place location on the West Coast. The park will feature a family-friendly rollercoaster, one of the largest wave pools in Southern California, as well as a musical play area for youngsters and character shows.

The park will also be home to an interactive Sesame Street Neighbourhood with the iconic 123 Stoop, alongside photo opportunities and parades.

Marc Swanson, CEO of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment said:

“This is an exciting milestone for our company, as this is the second Sesame Place in the United States and the first new theme park we’ve opened since 2013.”

“Having spent part of my career with this company at the original Sesame Place in Pennsylvania and being part of its success, I’m looking forward to continuing the legacy on the West Coast and providing a fun place to visit where life-long memories are created as fans experience what they love about the iconic show in a new way,” Swanson added.
