Situated at the city’s She Shan national tourism park in the northern Songjiang District, the resort covers an area of 900,000sq.m and consists of seven themes including Sunshine Port, Happy Times, Shangri-la, Ants Kingdom, Shanghai Beach, Gold Mine Town and Hurricane Bay.

The park, the fourth in the wake of others in Shenzhen, Beijing and Chengdu, has been launched by Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Holding Company, the state-owned tourism and real estate development firm.

Construction of Shanghai Happy Valley began in 2006, and Liu Pingchun, chairman of OCT Shanghai, said the group plans to set up more resorts in various Chinese cities in the coming years.
