In 2004, Real Madrid, which remains one of the world’s richest football clubs, officially opened it new training ground, the sprawling 1.2m sq.m Ciudad Real Madrid.

Now, according reports emerging from Spain, Real president Florentino Perez is considering developing a portion of the facility’s undeveloped land into what would be known as Valdebabas Theme Park.

Plans are understood to be at a very early stage, but the park would apparently be large enough to attract around three million visitors a year.

Cafes, restaurants, shops and rides are believed to be the main features of the resort.
