Busch Gardens and Water Country USA in Williamsburg, Virginia, is to expand this year, with the arrival  of new rides, fresh entertainment and an extension of its garden event series.

Opening in May 2019 is Finnegan’s Flyer, a new Screamin’ Swing ride, which features two pendulum-like arms. This exhilarating ride seats 32 riders, who fly gradually higher with each swing, reaching an incredible height of over 80 feet and maximum speeds of 45 mph.

Hot on the Finnegan’s Flyer’s heels, or arms to be more precise, is the Cutback Water Coaster, the East Coast’s only RocketBLAST coaster.

Made by the Canadian designer and manufacturer of water rides and water part resorts ProSlide Technology, the Cutback Water Coaster involves thrill-seekers boarding a four-person raft and speeding down an 856 ft. slide, through tunnels and heart-stopping turns until they jet out into a huge space comprising of saucer-shaped features.

This exhilarating water ride will also open its rafts to thrill-seekers in May.

The Mid-Atlantic’s largest water park is expanding its entertainment line-up in 2019, designed to keep the whole family entertained all year round. During weekends in April, youngsters can enjoy mingling with the likes of Elmo, Cookie Monster, Super Grover and others, at the Park’s Sesame Street Kids’ Weekends.

Foodies will also be at home at Busch Gardens this spring with the theme park’s Food & Wine Festival. On select days from May 17 until June 30, guests can enjoy tucking into around 60 mouth-watering dishes and delicacies from around the world, washed down with numerous local wines, craft beers and unique cocktails.

For guests visiting Busch Gardens and Water Country USA in the autumn, fear awaits them at the Howl-O-Scream nights of fright. On select nights from September 14 until October 27, 2019, visitors can enjoy a frighteningly memorable experience in the theme park’s collection of elaborate haunted houses, immersive themed scare zones, darkly entertaining live shows and challenging escape rooms.
