Tayto Park posted a positive deficit for the previous financial year with revenues at the amusement park ascending to €20.8m (£17.9m) in 2021.

Raymond Coyle, the leading entrepreneur of Tayto Park, died at the age of 70 in June. And the latest accounts show that his final year in charge of Tayto Park theme park in Co Meath acknowledged his tenure with increased revenues.

As stated by Breaking News Ireland, his business last year recorded pre-tax profits of €5.72m (£4.9m), after revenues increased by 124 percent.

It is believed that the park’s staycation campaign implemented in the summer of 2021 was key to the upturn in fortunes.

In terms of accumulated profits, Tayto Park posted a net gain of €24.3m (£20.9m), while its cash funds more than doubled from to €14.27m (£12.3m).

A spokesperson for Tayto Park said on Monday: “Raymond’s incredible legacy will continue to live on in the exciting plans that are in place for Emerald Park, Ireland’s only Theme Park and Zoo.”

Next year will be a landmark moment for the theme park as it is to rebrand as Emerald Park from January 1st next after its naming rights deal with crisp brand Tayto expires.
