The Lego Movie World has officially opened at Legoland California Resort, which celebrated the occasion with streamers, sparklers, entertainers and more.

The new world, which is largest addition in the park’s history, is based on the blockbuster films, The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.

With iconic guests and unique experiences, the new world places guests onto the streets of Bricksburg and immerses visitors into the Lego movie universe.

The world features six interactive attractions, including Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride where guests are surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen and feel the sensation of flying over memorable Lego lands.

Legoland California president, Kurt Stocks and two junior resort ambassadors announced the official opening of the world. Speaking at the launch event, Stocks said: “We are so proud of this land because families aren’t just stepping into another brilliant, Lego filled world, but also into a popular world based on the huge film franchise that kids and parents love.

“The Lego Movie World truly has something for everyone, and we are excited to welcome more guests to experience this new land which takes them from theatre to theme park.

“It will play a key part in boosting tourism locally in Carlsbad and across Southern California,” Stocks continued.
