The London Resort, hailed as one of the most ambitious attraction site projects in Europe, has submitted a planning application to the government.

The government’s Planning Inspectorate agency will have 28 days to assess the adequacy of the request and evaluate the project before accepting or rejecting it.

If the planning application is successful, building of the London Resort could start as soon as 2022, with the view of the site opening in 2024.

The London Resort will comprise of two theme parks featuring some of the most advanced and immersive themed attractions in the world. The site will also be home to e-Sports, a waterpark, hotels, retail and dining, and entertainment and conference venues.

The theme park will comprise of six themed lands, including The Studios, The Woods, The Kingdom, The Jungle, The Isles and The Starport.

The London Resort aims to be a “world-class, sustainable, next generation entertainment resort.” It will be the first European theme park to be built entirely from scratch since the construction of Disneyland Paris in 1992.
