After a sluggish 2006, spending at US theme parks is expected to grow at 4.3 per cent this year to more than $12bn, thanks in part to increased ticket prices and the weak dollar, which is spurring visits by international tourists.

Asia is the fastest-growing amusement park market, with spending expected to grow more than five per cent a year through 2011. By then, spending is expected to reach $8.1bn, up from $6.2bn in 2006.
