Therme Group have revealed new plans for a £250 million entertainment resort in Manchester.

The resort will be cutting-edge with novel new features for the visitor attraction industry. Attractions will include an urban beach fit for use throughout the season and a snow room.

A wellbeing spa and an urban farm have also been unveiled for a site covering 10,000sqm.

Sustainability will be at the forefront of the Therme Groups’s new project with its urban farm including 1500 trees and rooftop beehives, which can be cultivated for use in its restaurants and spa treatments. A car park with a green vertical forest keeps the theme of green going.

A partnership between Therme Group and Peel L&P was formed to accommodate the resort on the outskirts of the centre of Manchester at the popular entertainment precinct of TraffordCity.

Stelian Iacob, Senior Vice President of Therme Group and CEO of Therme Group UK said of the revised plans: “The COVID period gave us the opportunity to update the design of Therme Manchester to create an even more sustainable, engaging and accessible experience with profound health and wellbeing benefits for all. We will continue to work with the Manchester community as we progress with the design and development”.

A revised planning application is due this summer with construction scheduled to begin in 2023. Therme Group plan to open its resort in summer 2025.
