The Danish amusement park Tivoli Frieheden, in the city of Aarhus, enjoyed a super successful 10th Halloween season recently.

So popular has the eight-day celebration been that visitors to the free entry park have increased 166% over the past two Halloween seasons. This year’s event ran from October 13 to 21.

Helping Tivoli Friheden with its spooky transformation was Denmark’s own MK Themed Attractions. Formerly known as Tema Design by MK Illumination, the company is no stranger to assisting parks with their Halloween events, having worked with no fewer than 13 venues over the years. As well as the park in Aarhus, these include Djurs Sommerland and Jesperhus Feriepark in Denmark, Liseberg (Sweden), Legoland Deutschland, Movie Park Germany, Taunus Wunderland (also in Germany), Family Park (Austria), Conny-Land (Switzerland), Parc Saint Paul (France), Parque Warner (Spain) and Julianatoren (Netherlands).

But why is Halloween important for Tivoli Friheden? Morten Palm Andersen, the park’s marketing Manager, says: “We know when we thematise our park our guests get an extra experience and our park functions really well. It is the same we experience during Christmas at Tivoli Friheden. Our attendance number went through the roof this year, and we are really proud of the end result.”

Andersen adds, “It is always great working with MK Themed Attractions. Their significant understanding of Halloween theming combined with our wishes for the season, turned out exactly how we hoped.”

MK is now busy helping transform the Danish park for its Christmas season, when it will be filled with twinkling lights and amusing fibreglass decorations.
