Two new rollercoasters have opened at Tripsdrill, the family-friendly theme park in Germany.

‘Volldampf’ is a new family boomerang coaster, inspired by the traditional German song Schwäbischen Eisenbahn (Swabian Railway). The coaster runs backwards and forwards and is designed in the style of a 19th century steam locomotive.

The second new rollercoaster is known as Hals-über-Kopf. The ride tells the local folk story of Sieben Schwaben (Seven Swabians). Reaching heights of 30 metres and extending over an 800-metre track, the coaster boasts four inversions, a number of airtime moments, and reaches a top speed of 80km/h.

The two new rides boast intertwined layouts, with the coasters’ tracks crossing each other on several occasions.

Opening in 1929, Tripsdrill is Germany’s oldest amusement park. The theme park is situated less than an hour’s drive from Stuttgart, between forests and vineyards.
