Universal Beijing has announced two new appointments to its leadership team.

Joe Hoskin has been appointed as the park’s executive vice president and general manager, who will lead Universal Studio through its next stage of growth.

Hoskin has decades of experience in leadership positions for multinationals in China. He worked as senior vice president of human resources, international, at Universal Parks & Resorts.

Page Thompson, president and chief operating officer, international, at Universal Parks & resorts, commented on the appointment: “Joe’s leadership in helping us recruit and train an incredible team for Universal Beijing Resort, has been vital to our success.

“His unique understanding of Universal Beijing Resort perfectly positions him to take us into the future.”

Tom Mehrmann is stepping into a new role at Universal Parks & Resorts, as president and chief operating officer of Pacific Rim.

As well as managing Universal Beijing, Mehrmann will oversee the Hollywood and Japan Universal theme parks.

Speaking about the appointment, Thompson said: “Tom Mehrmann brought visionary leadership and decades of experience to the successful development and grand opening of Universal Beijing Resort.

“His new role allows him to build on that experience as we continue to develop a shared, best-practice approach toward creating our world-class guest experiences,” Thompson added.
