Universal Orlando is set to open its fourth theme park, Epic Universe, by the summer of 2025.

The plans were revealed by Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal. The theme park was originally due to open in 2023 but work was postponed at the site because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Construction began again in March 2021, putting the theme park on target to open in 2025.

Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, commented on the opening: “Epic is full steam ahead. I was down there a few weeks ago and the construction is going really well.

“We expect that park to open in 2025 and certainly in time for the summer of 2025,” Shell continued.

Brian Roberts, chairman and CEO of Comcast, shared his enthusiasm of the forecast opening of the theme park, saying the company is “ramping construction of Epic Universe and welcoming even more guests to our theme parks.”

Epic will be the largest Universal theme park in the United States. It will boast attractions and lands based on Illumination, DreamWorks, and Super Nintendo World.
