Wet ‘n’ Wild Haikou, the first waterpark to be developed by Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP) with Chinese partners Guangxi Investment and Mission Hills Group, has opened in Hainan province.

The international level park offers more than 30 waterslides, pools and attractions. Located at Mission Hills Centreville Haikou, a 240,000 square-metre retail, dining and entertainment precinct, it is surrounded by luxury hotels such as Renaissance and Ritz-Carlton Haikou and Renaissance Haikou.

“Wet ‘n’ Wild Haikou stretches over 50,000 sq m and offers a range of iconic slides and attractions for the whole family,” says general manager Lee Carter. “Our mission is to be a world leader in safety and provide world-class water slides, facilities, food and service to generate repeat visitation and enjoyment for all visiting guests.”

Key attractions include the Vortex, Half-Pipe, Water Rockets, 360 Rush, Super 8 Aqua Racer, Wet ‘n’ Wild junior and many more. The waterpark also features a selection of restaurants and food options, plus event spaces for public or corporates wanting to do team buildings or private functions.

Village Roadshow is Australia’s largest theme park operator with Sea World, Warner Bros Movie World, Wet ‘n’ Wild Gold Coast and Wet ‘n’ Wild Sydney in its portfolio. It also operates Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas and licenses the Wet ‘n’ Wild names to several other waterparks in the United States operated by Premier Parks.
