On April 13, 2019, Walibi Rhône-Alpes Park in the commune of Les Avenières, in the Isère department of eastern France, will open its doors to a special anniversary season to mark the theme park’s 40th year in operation.

The anniversary season will be held in a new Festival City area, which will take visitors to captivating and mysterious places, including having the chance to experience a thrilling new ride known as the Mystic.

As well as the 575 metre-long and 31-metre-high Mystic rollercoaster, other attractions and facilities in the Festival City area of the park include a fun family ride called Les P’tits Chaudrons and the new Chez Marie Laveau restaurant, which means Walibi Rhône-Alpes Park will have a total of eight restaurants to cater for all budgets.

The popular French theme park will also be putting on special entertainment including opening the event with a fun and flamboyant carnival.

Comprising of floral-stilted walkers, a traditional Brazilian percussion band, surprises for children and vibrant decorations, the carnival promises to bring additional magic to this celebratory season. The anniversary carnival will present at the theme park from April 13 – 28, 2019.

Walibi Rhône-Alpes Park opened in 1979 and this unique season celebrates the park’s 40th anniversary.

With additional rides, facilities and attractions, 2019 is on track be another good year for Walibi Rhône-Alpes Park, which enjoyed success in 2018 when 475,000 visitors came through its doors.
