Dollywood's Wild Eagle continues to soar in its second season, adding another notable award to a growing list of accolades.

The National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA) announced the results of its 27th Amusement Park and Attractions Survey and, once again, Wild Eagle was selected as the Best New Attraction of 2012.

Last September, Wild Eagle won an Amusement Today Golden Ticket Award as the Best New Theme Park Ride, one of five Golden Tickets Dollywood earned in 2012.

America's first wing coaster, Wild Eagle's seats are perched on either side of the track, leaving nothing but sky above and below.

The $20m attraction received praise from guests for its unique ride attributes.

NAPHA members are experienced riders who have visited countless amusement parks.

By riding a diverse assortment of roller coasters and other rides, these members are able to offer knowledgeable insight on the best attractions in the world. The average NAPHA member has visited 121 amusement parks and ridden more than 350 coasters.

The NAPHA, founded in 1978, is an international, educational and enthusiast's organization dedicated to preserving and documenting the heritage of the amusement park industry, past, present and future.
