US casino mogul Steve Wynn has unveiled plans to expand his company’s flagship resort, Wynn Las Vegas.

In a recent announcement, Wynn said he would expand the Las Vegas Boulevard resort by turning the golf course at the rear of the development into a new area complete with a 38-acre lagoon attraction, a 1,000-room hotel tower, a small casino, nightlife, meeting space and several restaurants.

Pending director approval, the Wynn Paradise Park initiative is set to cost around $1.6bn, and would allow guests to water ski, paddle board and parasail around the lagoon during their stay.

“This really does reinvent Las Vegas,” Wynn said. “And I’m not a guy that does developer-speak very often – I let our projects talk for themselves.”
