Listen to this article

This year’s World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL) is to take place on Thursday July 16. It will be the 11th year of the event, which was created by the World Waterpark Association in 2010.

The global swimming event is supported by waterparks, swimming pools, swimming schools, aquatic facilities, YMCAs, and other water-based sites. The event provides a platform for the international aquatics industry to work together to generate greater awareness of the importance of teaching children to swim to prevent drowning.

The 2020 WLSL will share the message “Swimming Lesson Saves Lives.” It will be held in locations around the world on July 16, or on another date in June, July or August that is most suited for a facility’s operations.

48 countries take part in this annual swimming event, attracting millions of children and adults into pools to participate in the world’s largest swimming lesson.
