European ride manufacturers continue to play an important role in the rapid development of the Middle East’s attractions sector, and Italian ride specialist Fabbri Group is among the companies helping shape the region’s growing leisure landscape.
One of the company’s most notable recent projects can be found at Lusail Winter Wonderland in Doha, Qatar, a large-scale amusement and recreational park developed ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Designed as a seasonal destination combining classic fairground charm with modern attractions, the park quickly became a popular draw for both residents and international visitors.
For the project, Fabbri Group supplied and installed six attractions, creating a well-balanced mix of thrill rides, family experiences, and timeless fairground favourites.
Among the headline attractions is Scary Drop, a striking freefall tower that delivers a powerful adrenaline rush as riders experience the sudden drop and accompanying G-forces. The ride incorporates magnetic braking systems, ensuring a smooth and safe deceleration while maintaining the dramatic thrill that tower rides are known for. As the destinations website puts it: Starting at a staggering 50 metre height and feel the depth of the drop, in double time!
Equally eye-catching is the Booster 50, one of Fabbri Group’s most recognisable creations worldwide. With its sweeping rotating arms and high-speed motion, the ride has become a visual centrepiece within the park, offering a spectacular display for both riders and spectators.
Alongside these high-energy attractions, Fabbri also delivered a selection of rides designed to appeal to families and younger visitors. Magic Dance, one of the company’s signature attractions, continues to delight guests with its playful motion and vibrant presentation, while Telecombat, historically significant as the first ride manufactured by Fabbri in the post-war period, remains an enduring favourite with families.
The ride line-up is complemented by Spider, a family thrill attraction designed to provide excitement without overwhelming younger riders, and a 53-metre Giant Wheel featuring 36 enclosed cabins. More than simply an attraction, the Giant Wheel serves as a visual landmark for Lusail Winter Wonderland, offering sweeping views across the surrounding entertainment district.

Projects such as Lusail Winter Wonderland highlight how European ride manufacturers continue to find strong opportunities across the Middle East. With large-scale leisure developments emerging across the region, the demand for reliable, high-quality attractions remains strong.
For Fabbri Group, the Doha installation demonstrates how a carefully curated mix of thrill rides, family attractions, and classic fairground icons can help bring new entertainment destinations to life while strengthening the company’s presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing amusement markets.
