During the IAAPA Expo Europe held in Vienna, InterPark sat down with Global Marketing Manager at Brogent, Shane Wu, to discuss a range of topics surrounding the leisure industry.

“Our main line of products are our flying theatres. So far, we have sold 100 flying theatres in more than 20 countries in the leisure industry.

“One of our most cherished products can be found in the Legoland’s of Billund, Windsor, California and Florida, called Flight of the Sky Lion, the UK’s first flying theatre which transports visitors to a parallel universe where mythical LEGO creatures are found such as the two-headed Hydra and the Chimera.”

Brogent caters for clients across the world. One of which is an important strategic alliance to Europa-Park: “Europa-Park are a very stable and important client for Brogent,” Wu commented. “We have built for them the largest flying theatre called Voletarium, which was opened in 2017 and can ride 140 passengers. When it opened, it was awarded first place for the Best New Ride category and this year at the Expo here Voletarium has won the World’s Best Dark Ride at the European Star Awards.

“The award is significant for us as the flying theatres are the latest popular genre for entertainment.”

Wu commented further on how Brogent operates: “We have more than 90% market share in the flying theatre industry, but we also offer further products such as turnkey solutions for our global customers.

“We have a design team in Vancouver who can tailor-make attractions at the request of our customers. They can help to draw a master plan while we have our R&D team over in Taiwan who can make the ride into a realistic ride system which will pass all the necessary certification safety standards. We have a specific safety team that look into the different regulations for each country when we create a ride, so safety is top of our agenda.

“From there, we have a special team who can set up the flying theatres around the globe and an after-sales team who can monitor and give assistance to our customers for their attractions when needed.”

During the pandemic, Brogent successfully set up 20 flying theatres around the globe in challenging circumstances. “It represents a commitment to our clients,” said Wu, who remembered with great satisfaction one project in particular during the pandemic to install a Flying Theatre in Kazakhstan: “In 2020, the country wanted to open a Flying Theatre in 2021 as there was an important presidential meeting summit for the central Asia countries. And Kazakhstan wanted to use the Flying Theatre as a storytelling ride to explain the importance of the country through history and technology.

“Our team received a special visa from the president as his country wanted to fully support our team to create this attraction and give Kazakstan important visibility.”

On discussing Brogent’s technical qualities. Wu said: “Our latest technologies are more economical and bring installation times down to three months, which helps owners when setting up new attractions to attract custom.

“Filming is crucial to what we do as we want to tell a story and create an unforgettable experience for our guests. It is a cinema, so content is key. We have theatres with productions which fly over Canada, America, Iceland, Japan, Netherlands.”

Brogent launched a new product last June, the “Turnkey o-Ride Flying Theater,” at the IAAPA Expo Asia held in Singapore. It also announced the completion of the collaboration with Kodansha, Japan on the 4th chapter of “Attack on Titan.” An important IP in Japanese animation, Brogent collaborated with one of the largest Japanese publication companies. “We turn comic books into an immersive animation world with Flying Theatres, said Wu.

With the addition of this new film to the already popular “Attack on Titan” trilogy, there are four digital contents that commenced global licensing of flying theatre and VR films. Through utilizing market-leading products and exclusive licensed popular IP content, Brogent is targeting further market share in the theme park and tourism market.

Brogent also announced a partnership during IAAPA Europe Expo with Mack Animation: The world’s first 10K flying theatre film centred on spectacular aerial landscapes of Africa. Called “It’s Africa”, the impressive experience transports guests through the heart of Africa, taking in landmark locations such as Kilimanjaro and Lake Turkana.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Mack Animations on It’s Africa, a high-quality Flying Theatre,” commented Wu. “Our production team worked on the project for more than one year, investigating and filming far-flung regions in more than 17 African countries.

“We believe that It’s Africa is the next generation of a Flying Theatre experience. So far, we are using projectors but with LED and 10k quality filming, it is nearly the true eyesight experience for the guest.

“Furthermore, it sets Brogent up for the future using this revolutionary technology which will streamline better our products and innovations and elevate the quality of the Flying Theatre industry.”

Brogent live up to their mantra to ‘entertain your life, anytime anywhere.’
