Boom in Turkey’s Tourism

Turkey’s Tourism has seen a boom in recent times with its museums particularly peaking interest.

There has been an increase in Turkish museums, which rose by 7.1% in 2023 to 606, as per “Cultural Heritage Statistics” published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).

A record 55.75 million visitors visited Turkey’s historical sites and museums last year with a 6.2% rise.

Of the 55.75 million visitors, 54.7% visited museums and historical sites are operated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with 17.67 million.

Turkey’s protected natural areas are also increasing with Türkiye with 24,786 archaeological and natural heritage sites, a 4.9% increase from the previous year.
