The final countdown has arrived for a contentious proposal to build a resort by Loch Lomond.
Flamingo Land, the theme park operator, are behind the plans to create a waterpark and monorail system. Plans have been in the works for six years but has faced a backlash and pushbacks at various steps of the proposal.
A decision is expected by Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority, who have concerns with the project due to flood risks and the impact on the surrounding environment.
Flamingo Land is based in Yorkshire and its company, Flamingo Land Limited, originally submitted proposals for a tourist entertaining venue at Loch Lomond in 2018 which included a hotel, craft brewery and leisure centre.
However, an online petition against plans garnered more than 55,000 signatures.
