Theme Parks UK has revealed more details about its UK Theme Park Awards event.
Taking place on 19th September 2024 at Thorpe Park, the event will celebrate the best of the attractions industry through the acknowledgement of a plethora of awards, 22 categories all in all, including Theme Park of the Year, Best Customer Service and Best Value. The new categories include Best Ride Storytelling, Best New Food or Retail Outlet, Best Theme Park Lodges or Glamping, Best Accessibility Initiative and Best Sustainability Initiative.
Major contenders for the awards include Alton Towers and Drayton Manor in Staffordshire, Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Lancashire, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey, LEGOLAND Windsor in Berkshire and Paultons Park in Hampshire.
The awards are organised by ThemeParks-UK.com, an independent consumer guide to UK theme parks. In 2024, the awards are presented in association with AttractionTickets.com.
Addressing the upcoming event is Neil Poulter, Divisional Director for Thorpe Park: “We are delighted to be welcoming fellow industry peers from all over the country to the 2024 UK Theme Park Awards, hosted here at Thorpe Park – the home of feel-good thrills!
“We’ve no doubt this will be an amazing event and we look forward to collectively celebrating everyone’s hard work and wins.”
For the fifth year, the British public are able to vote for their favourite UK theme parks in these national awards. Voting is still open at ukthemeparkawards.com but closes on 1st September 2024.
Presenting the awards will be George Akid, one of the growing stars of the entertainment world. “I am thrilled to be returning to host the UK Theme Park Awards 2024!” stated Akid.
I have had such an amazing time over the last two years and it is truly a privilege to be asked back for my third! The thing that makes the UK Theme Park Awards so special is that they are voted by the public which means the categories are so varied and brings the smaller parks up against the big hitters which is really exciting! The thing I am most looking forward to is the big day itself – the atmosphere is truly magical.
“There is such a sense of community within the theme park world and you can truly see that on the day. It’s such an honour to be such a small part of these incredible awards. I can’t wait to see you all there!”
