IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 kicks off

IAAPA Expo Asia has kicked off in Bangkok with the unveiling of a duo of enlightening awards events encouraging ‘inspiration, recognition, and celebrate excellence in the attractions industry.’

The IAAPA Honors awards evening will take place at Europa-Park, next spring from 28-30 April, 2025.

The announcement took places during the opening ceremony of IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 in Bangkok celebrating the achievements of the latest innovations of the leisure industry.

IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 is the largest trade exhibition in the region for the global attractions industry, showcasing the future of entertainment and attractions. Taking place from 27 to 30th May, industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts will come together to exhibit and discuss the latest trends, technologies, and best practices shaping the landscape of amusement and leisure.

“IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 is a pivotal moment for the attractions industry,” said IAAPA President and CEO Jakob Wahl at the opening ceremony.

“Our theme of ‘evolution’ highlights the need to adapt and innovate to stay competitive. IAAPA’s comprehensive education programs cover a diverse range of topics, offering valuable insights for navigating the evolving industry and meeting changing consumer preferences.”

IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 has 350 exhibitors filling an expansive trade show floor spanning over 7,839 sq. ft.

During the opening ceremony, the IAAPA President and CEO revealed plans for the IAAPA Honors: “The IAAPA Honors Awards Program is more than just a ceremony; it’s a celebration of excellence and a testament to the incredible talent and innovation within our industry.

“Our goal is to inspire our members by showcasing the best and brightest in the attractions community and to provide a platform for networking, learning, and professional growth. The event will honour innovation within attractions of all types and sizes.”

IAAPA Honors will acknowledge members through numerous categories including Brass Ring Awards, regional awards for Service to IAAPA and the industry, Young Professional of the Year; a new Inspiration Award; and the Liseberg Applause Award.

Meanwhile, Wuthichai Luangamornlert, IAAPA Global Board Chair and Managing Director of Siam Amazing Park Bangkok, announced plans for a new IAAPA Hall of Fame Awards presentation. This event will take place at the IAAPA Expo 2024 in Orlando on Monday, November 18, 2024.
