Legoland New York has broken the world record for the largest disco dance party at the opening day of the park’s new Minifigure Skyflyer Ride.

Legoland New York invited 704 guests to get into the groove in celebration of the new ride featuring seven party pods.

The park offered free admission to the first 2,500 people attending the park on 24 June dressed in their “disco best”.

The Lego park smashed the previous record of 598.

“Guests are encouraged to dress in their disco best – glitter/sequin apparel, sparkly tutus, disco-ball themed accessories and other disco-themed duds,” the company said prior to the record attempt.

And the “party in the sky” with seven themed “Party Pods,” ended with a successful record-breaking achievement. “Minifigure Skyflyer is a groundbreaking attraction for Legoland Resorts, and the enthusiastic crowd at today’s grand opening shows that Legoland New York is the ideal location for it,” said Stephanie Johnson.

“Whether you love disco, a pirate party, or dancing with party animals, our guests will enjoy the various themed of this new attraction, spot over 100 minifigures and keep the party going all season long.”
