Novel naming contest for Playland’s new launch coaster

Listen to this article

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is seeking roller coaster fans to name its new launch coaster for Playland in Canada.

A competition has been held to choose the best name for the new ride. The winner will receive two season passes to Playland and an invitation for two guests to the coaster launch celebration.

On the name branding website where further competition details are disclosed, the press release states “what would you call Canada’s fastest electric launch coaster that blasts off through a LED light tunnel and flies around a twisted track, within a super, natural west coast setting?

“We’ve got yellow track, magenta structure, black cars, and a really cool ride environment planned, but what we need now is a name.”

The ride is to be manufactured by Zamperla and construction work for the new ride will begin later this year in readiness to open in 2024.
