Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed Super Nintendo World as one of five imaginative worlds at the all-new Universal Epic Universe theme park opening in 2025.

Fans of the Nintendo series will be able to enjoy the immersive land like the cherished video game series.

And Universal Orlando Resort has announced details on its attractions offerings plus dining, shopping and interactive experiences inspired by the Super Mario franchise and, for the first time in the U.S., Donkey Kong Country.

Guests will marvel at the spectacular scenery that is Mushroom Kingdom, and within the kingdom will be Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, where guests can unite with Team Mario to take on Team Bowser for the Golden Cup in a state-of-the-art augmented reality, projection mapping technology and elaborate environments to bring the fun of the Mario Kart video game to life.

Riders will drive through a series of fabled Mario Kart courses – collecting coins, tossing shells at Team Bowser, dodging obstacles, and more – as they join their favourite characters and compete to help Team Mario win the race.

Another centrepiece attraction will be Yoshi’s Adventure, a family-friendly ride, riders travel on board a fleet of Yoshi vehicles through Mushroom Kingdom landscapes in search of glowing eggs, encountering many familiar characters along the way.

A coveted attraction for the US Market will be the creation of Donkey Kong Country. Located next to Super Mario Land, guests will discover an entrance that leads them to Donkey Kong Country, a tropical land based on the critically acclaimed video game series. Its beautiful scenery includes tall trees, waterfalls and landmarks such as The Golden Temple.

The signature ride in Donkey Kong Country will be Mine-Cart Madness, a runaway train ride where riders race in a mine cart traversing through the jungle to help Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong protect the coveted golden banana on this first-of-its-kind family coaster.

Mine-Cart Madness will use cutting edge technology and ride systems to ‘jump’ the track thanks to a clever sidetrack holding the ride vehicle so riders seemingly jump over gaps, creating a wow sensation never experienced before. A clear nod to one of the video games’ most entertaining spots.

Epic Universe will be Universal Destinations and Experiences’ third instalment of Super Nintendo World, joining Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan.
