Universal Studios Singapore is set to thrill visitors once again with its 12th annual Halloween Horror Nights, running from September 27 to November 2. This year, the scare-fest will feature a haunted house based on the popular Netflix K-drama, “Sweet Home” (2020 to present).
This marks the theme park’s third collaboration with Netflix. Previous haunted houses were themed around the zombie series “All Of Us Are Dead” (2022 to present) in 2023 and the horror science-fiction series “Stranger Things” (2016 to present) in 2018.
“Sweet Home” is an apocalyptic series that follows the residents of the Green Home apartment complex as they struggle to survive in a world overrun by deadly monsters. Led by South Korean actor Song Kang, who plays Cha Hyun-su, a man transforming into a monster-human hybrid, the series has captivated audiences worldwide. The third and final season premieres on Netflix on July 19.
The “Sweet Home”-themed haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights will immerse visitors in the series’ terror, recreating iconic locations such as Hyun-su’s apartment and the Green Home basement.
Markham Gannon, director of entertainment at Resorts World Sentosa, home to Universal Studios Singapore, stated: “Every haunted house experience is our creative spin on the source material while staying true to its essence, and ‘Sweet Home’ is no exception. Korean horror resonates well with our fans, and we can’t wait to take Halloween Horror Nights to new, frightful heights.”
