Zamperla has opened a pendulum swing ride at Six Flags Great America with Giga Discovery 40.
Called Sky Striker, riders are launched skyward before the pendulum’s back-and-forth motion creates a sense of vertigo and “unparalleled freefall sensation.”
Sky Striker captivates riders as they soar to a height of 52.5 meters (172 ft) above the ground at speeds of 110 km/h (68mph). The ride model made its debut at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
The swing propels its 40 riders back and forth and features an octagonal rotating centre with eight arms. Each arm hosts a group of seats, with five seats in each group.
Ramon Rosario, Zamperla’s Director of Sales, commented on the opening: “This is a further demonstration of the long-standing collaboration between the Six Flags group and Zamperla.
“This is an exceptional and spectacular ride, capable of attracting the attention of park visitors from afar. We are excited to see the reactions of thrill seekers.”
