The National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride is in its final preparations for its charmingly named MooFest event.

MooFest will take place over the weekend of Saturday 16 September with fun, education, and activities about the importance of cattle and how it provides to the world.

Vicky McLean, general manager National Museum of Rural Life, said: “MooFest is a great opportunity for visitors to learn about the fascinating world of cattle and to appreciate the important role they have played and continue to play in our lives.

“We are extremely grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for helping us to offer this unique blend of cow-themed entertainment, education and family fun.”

Moofest will include craft fun, creating fresh mozzarella, learning about milk origins and its forms and the traffic light milking process.

Meanwhile, Scotland’s rural college, the SRUC, will teach visitors about cattle anatomy with the help of a cow skeleton.
