The Harris Family Trust have successfully negotiated a deal with the national holiday resort chain Butlin’s for £300 million.
Butlins is a staple in three locations in the UK with Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness.
A founder member of Bourne Leisure, The Harris family have presided over a notable share in the company since 1977 before selling a majority stake last year.
Paul Harris of the Harris Family Trust said: “We are delighted to reaffirm our love Butlin’s and once again be the new owners of this great brand.
“We look forward to working alongside the Butlin’s leadership team as they strive to deliver their strategic plan for the business and help them accelerate their investment plans to give our Butlin’s guests an even better holiday experience.”
Butlin’s Bognor Regis resort in particular is one of the biggest employers in the area, with nearly 1,000 staff. The resort covers a 60-acre plot of land which houses an amusement park, restaurants and cafes, entertainment arcades, and a newly upgraded swimming pool.
