The Dutch company Van Edgom, established water slides constructors, have returned to their roots with a new attraction that can be described as going ‘back to the future’.
Based in Utrecht, the company in the late nineties developed a family raft ride along a water course with round boats catering for several people.
The theme park Bobbejaanland was the first to house the attraction in 1999, known as Bobby Drop. However, it was closed and demolished at the end of 2008.
Fast forward to 2022 and Van Egdom have officially restarted their raft ride. The Dutch manufacturer have presented the attraction at the IAAPA Expo Europe in London.
The tale of the tape for the aquatic attraction reads of a standard model measuring 12.5-metres (41ft) high, with a floor area of 75 x 30-metres (246 x 98ft). The lift covers 52-metres (171ft). A sliding section of 120-metres (394ft) with halfpipe element with a sloping wall and a splash. The sailing section in the water gutter is more than 70-metres (230ft) long.
Van Egdom have confirmed the possibility to add a vertical lift and various water elements. The attraction has a capacity of 520 people per hour.
