ZSL London Zoo have opened a new Monkey Valley walkthrough exhibit.
Eastern black and white colobus monkeys’ will be visible to visitors, which are, the first species of their kind in the UK.
The monkeys will feel at home with a setting akin to forests of central Africa and living in the colobus troop.
The new exhibit stands at 80ft above the Primrose Hill skyline and houses a 30ft waterfall and lagoon. The monkeys will be able to enjoy 800-metres of rope swing among almost 1300 plants.
Kathryn England, COO of ZSL London Zoo said: “We’re excited to welcome visitors to Monkey Valley this summer – after seven years of careful planning and restoration, new life has been breathed into the former Snowdon Aviary, a remarkable piece of the nation’s architectural history.”
