The Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission have announced they are preparing for a total of 60 preparatory projects in 2020, including the construction of Jinshan Legoland and a Disneyland expansion.
There are 152 formal projects in the major construction arrangement in Shanghai in 2020, 24 of which are new projects and 11 are almost completed projects.
In November 2019, Lego announced that the Legoland Theme Resort in Jinshan District, Shanghai, is expected to open in 2023. With a total investment of USD 550 million, the site will be one of the world’s largest Legoland resorts.
In January 2019, Shanghai Disneyland announced a new expansion plan that will involve the development of the park’s first ‘Zootopia’ themed area.
