As part of its park-wide transformation, Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort will be undergoing a number of changes in 2020.

On January 4, 2020, MouseGear will run its last day of operation at its current location and will reopen the following day at a temporary location of Inventions East.

The characters in meet-and-greet sessions in Inventions West will also close on January 5 with some closing entirely and others moving to new locations. Mickey Mouse will be moving to the queue for the Disney-Pixar Short Film Festival in the Imagine! pavilion to meet and greet guests. Goofy will be greeting guests at the park’s main entrance, and Minnie Mouse will be greeting people at the World Showcase Gazebo.

Joy will be meeting guests in the Imagine! pavilion and Sadness and Baymax will cease their greeting guest duties during this time.

New and expanded paths are being opened at Epcot to accommodate the changes and help guests navigate the theme park with ease.

In January 2020, a new walkway will open connecting the west side of Epcot’s main entrance with the promenade near The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
