Dreamworld, Australia’s largest amusement park, has published extensive investment plans for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

In addition to extensions and redesigns of themed areas, new rides including a roller coaster are also planned.

On 24 November 2022, Greg Yong, managing director of Dreamworld, presented detailed plans for the two seasons. A total of 50 million Australian dollars is to be invested.

New attractions and expansions

Plans are to start as early as 2023 and the theme park on Australia’s Gold Coast is to be expanded with new attractions. In addition to the iconic Dreamworld sphere, a wave flier will be built which will provide fun for children and adults alike due to its family-friendliness.

In the 2023 season, the current “DreamWorks” themed area will be replaced, and a new child-friendly area will be created. “Kenny & Belinda’s Dreamland” attaches importance to local partnerships and own brands. Thus, previous attractions are to be adapted or placed elsewhere. Two new rides with “Bananas in Pyjamas. 

The “Ocean Parade” is going to be expanded in 2023. Car scooters and the “Pandamonium” thrill ride are going to be redesigned, and a themed water playground is being created for young guests to cool off on warmer days.

The area that is home to ABC Kids and The Wiggles World will be redesigned in 2024 and present itself as Rivertown. The area will be deeply themed and send guests on a journey into the jungle.

For this purpose, the current attraction Vintage Cars Adventure will be redesigned and find its place in Rivertown. New vehicles and a new experience will be offered as Murrissippi Motors.

The opening of the roller coaster Jungle Rush is planned as a big highlight. The ride by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma is aimed at children and adults. The track will feature the world’s first inclined turntable, twelve moments of perceived weightlessness as well as forward and backward rides.35 million Australian will be invested in the new roller coaster alone.
